Numeracy and Literacy and Functional Skills

It can be really hard to ask for help with reading, writing and maths skills as an adult, but we believe you’re never too old to learn.

Our tutors are experienced at working with adults to build their confidence and learn the skills they need. We always work one to one with adults undertaking numeracy or literacy so that we can concentrate on your individual needs, and you don’t have the added pressure of other students.

Your tutor will sit with you for the full hour, guiding and instructing you, in a quiet and friendly location. You can ask for help in specific areas, such as forms or vocabulary you need at work, or we can guide you through a programme of learning designed to help you learn to read and write with more fluency, and understand numbers with more confidence.

Functional Skills

For those who are feeling more confident, we can guide you through the skills required for Entry Level 3, or Level 1 or 2 Functional Skills. When you are ready, we can help you book your exam at a local college.

You may be able to get funding through local charities, your work place or DWP to pay for your lessons with us.
